The air conditioning muffler is a device which USES the principle of sound reflection, interference and absorption to reduce airflow noise.
According to the principle of muffler, there are resistance, resistance, resonance type and compound muffler.
1.Resistance muffler, it USES the absorption of sound absorption material and sound. Its structure is to fix the sound absorbing materials on the inner wall of the pipeline with airflow flow, or arrange them in a certain way in the shell of the pipeline to form the resistance muffler, and the sound absorbing materials can absorb part of the sound energy incident on it. Sound energy can be absorbed because of the porosity and looseness of the sound absorbing material. When sound waves enter the voids, they cause tiny vibrations in the air and material in the pores, which, due to friction and viscous resistance, absorb a considerable amount of sound energy into heat. It is effective for high frequency and intermediate frequency noise, but has poor noise attenuation for low frequency noise. Representative mufflers include: tube muffler, chip muffler and format muffler.
2.Resonant muffler, it USES the pipe hole connected to a resonant cavity method, make the holes of the air column and air in the cavity form elastic resonance system, when the outside noise frequency and inherent frequency of the resonant system at the same time, the air column resonance occur and hole wall friction, the friction can sound energy consumption, so as to achieve the goal of pin sound. This kind of muffler has the strong frequency selectivity, and the effective frequency range is very narrow, generally can produce the big attenuation to the low frequency pin sound. Its airflow resistance is small, but the structure is larger because of the resonant cavity.
3.Resistant muffler is composed of tube is connected to a small room, the sudden change of the muffler used duct section and make the sound waves reflected back towards students and silencing effect, on the muffler has good silencing effect, low noise, simple structure, as a result of not using sound-absorbing material, and therefore don't accept the influence of high temperature and corrosive gas. Eliminating low-frequency noise has certain effect. In order to ensure a certain muffler effect, the expansion ratio of the muffler (the ratio of large and small fault areas) should be greater than 4. Therefore, it is difficult to apply the muffler when the building space of the machine room is small.
4.The composite muffler concentrated the resistance and expansion muffler, low to high frequency noise have a good effect. In addition, for the air conditioning system (such as purification air conditioning project) that can not use fiber sound absorbing materials, the use of metal (aluminum, etc.) structure of the micro perforated plate muffler can obtain good results.
