The muffler refers to the noise-reducing devices such as pipes with sound absorption linings and elbows, or the use of sudden changes in cross-sectional area and other pipes with discontinuous sound impedances, so that the noise in the pipes can be attenuated or Reflect back. The former is called a resistive muffler, the latter is called a resistive muffler, and there are also impedance compound mufflers.

There are many types of mufflers, but the mechanism of muffler can be divided into six main types, namely, resistance muffler, resistance muffler, impedance composite muffler, micro-perforated plate muffler, small hole muffler and active muffler.

According to the space conditions at the bottom of the car, the muffler cover can be processed into a tile shape or rolled into a pot shape. The outer cover of the pot-shaped muffler is formed by using a round mandrel to form the outer cover material and bite or integrally installed by welding, and the welded parts are installed into the interface. The pot-shaped muffler is composed of an inner tube, a steering elbow, and a middle bottom plate, and then the outer bottom plate is connected to the outer cover through slotting or welding.

When the space condition at the bottom of the car is complicated and it is difficult to install a pot-shaped muffler, a deep-drawn tile-shaped muffler can be used. It can be made into almost any form. The total volume of the car's muffler is 8 to 12 times the engine displacement.
